Registration
All new, trialling and returning athletes competing on Saturday 13th November must register with our governing body Little Athletics Victoria (LAVic) by 11pm on Thursday 11th November, 2021, for Season 2021-2022. Due to COVIDSafe protocols, there will be no access to the Moonee Valley Athletic Track for athletes who have not been registered by 11pm 11/11/2021. Athletes registering after 11pm on Thursday 11th November, will be able to attend competition from Saturday 20th November, 2021.

Wet Weather
At this stage the weather is not looking great for competition on Saturday 13th November. A call will be made at 7.15am on the day and this will be communicated through our Team App. Ideally we would like our athletes to compete and we may run the wet weather program, depending on the conditions. If the wet weather program goes ahead please be aware that there will be minimal congregating underneath the shelter on the front straight due to social distancing requirements, please make sure you bring an umbrella. The COVID Safety Officers will be monitoring this area.

Registration Pack Collection
To ease congestion, registration packs are available to be collected from the pavillion on Friday 12th November from 4.30pm – 6.30pm.

Athlete Bags/Backpacks
Athletes need to bring a bag/backpack to carry around throughout the day in order to keep their belongings in when competing. (Tops, shoes and other materials should not be left on the ground). We recommend that items inside the bag may include sunscreen, hat, water bottle, snacks, wipes and spikes/masks (for older athletes).

Which adults are allowed at the track?
Due to the current COVIDSafe restrictions and capacity limits, adult spectators are not allowed inside the facility on Saturday 13/11/2021. Everyone inside the facility must have a responsibility. That can be officiating, caring for sibling athletes or caring for younger siblings. This can mean that two parents may attend. (Please phone Angela 0421 406 842 if you need clarification on whether you are allowed to enter the facility, prior to Saturday.) Adults minding athletes or siblings, away from the track must socially distance from other people.

Arrival at Moonee Valley Athletics Track.
We will have tables set up in the Bruce Street Carpark. As well we will have a table for trialling athletes to sign in and information table under the cover on the front straight. Firstly, athletes are to collect their chest patches from the main tables. (No access to the track will be given to athletes if they are not wearing a season 2021-2022 chest patch). Entry will be through the Bruce St Carpark double gate. (No access through Corio Street gate.) At the entry point, each family needs to check in to the Service Vitoria COVID Tracing App. If you do not have a phone, please see a COVIDSafe Official, stationed at the Bruce Street Carpark and they will record your attendance on a paper register. We will have COVIDSafe Officials at the entry point and they will direct athletes and guardians to their initial starting point of competition.

Parent Duty
We no longer have ‘Parent Duty Cards’. You can sign up to parent duty the week before competition at www.elac.com.au/duty-roster/. If you are not able to sign up prior to Saturday, you will be able to fill in any empty spaces on the morning of competition. For those duties that are down as “recorders”, training on the recording devices will be given on the morning.

Coffee Van
Nick the Coffee Man will be serving all day, near the pavilion.

Canteen/BBQ
These will not run on Saturday 13/11/2021. (Please bring snacks and drinks – no sharing!)

As always, your understanding, cooperation and patience when engaging with ELAC volunteers and your fellow members is appreciated. We look forward to seeing you all soon.

Kind regards,
Essendon Little Athletics Centre Committee
